Scientific Research of the University

The expert Council of the RF Ministry of Education and Science has approved 11 Universities’ applications for creation of key regional universities. Our Vyatka State University was among the universities on which basis the creation of such Вasic Universities was recommended.

The program of the RF Ministry of Education and Science to create Вasic Universities is aimed to the formation of strong universities in Russian regions. By integrating their scientific bases, personnel and financial resources these universities will be able to provide transformed personnel training, to attract the smartest students, to create science laboratories and to ensure cooperation with large industrial companies of regions.

The Program of VyatSU development as a Basic University for 2016-2020 provides high-quality modernization of research and innovation activity, which is focused on management, organizational, personnel and infrastructural changes of scientific units and research teams, creation of new centers and services, positioning of the University as a leading (primary) science platform of Kirov region; confirmation of powers (or re-registration) of existing dissertation councils and creation of dissertation councils for the University’s main research areas.

An excellence center in pharmaceutical biotechnology and four centers of competence in the following areas are planned to be launched within this program:

-          Polymer materials,

-          Industrial and business engineering,

-          Environmental technology and systems,

-          Biological resources usage.

Implementation of the Excellence Center should lead to the University’s recognition among the national leaders in the sphere of "Pharmaceutical biotechnology".

Thematic directions of Competence Centers are supposed to bring them regional leadership and further possibility for their development up to the level of Excellence Centers.

Creation of Centers is the basis for activity 1.3 «Development of Master’s Research» and activity 2.3.1 "Postgraduate school 2.0".
